  Lute and Theorbo
DESCRIPTION:Musica Maestrale is excited to announce a collaboration with Ba
 rbara Allen Hill and Daniel Meyers\, an early music power couple from Bost
 on\, in a program of music from the court of the French kings Louis XIII a
 nd XIV. A multi-genre vocalist with a wide repertoire ranging from Medieva
 l to modern\, Barbara is a much-decorated force in the Boston early music 
 scene. Just as versatile a musician\, Bobbie’s husband Dan is a multi-in
 strumentalist that specializes in early winds and percussion who has perfo
 rmed with some of the most celebrated ensembles in the country including t
 he Folger Consort and Boston Camerata.\nThe program will highlight court s
 ongs of 17th-century France. These songs were primarily meant for private 
 consumption by the nobility\, and shows a tender\, intimate side of early-
  to mid-Baroque music. They express sentiments of loss\, longing\, and hea
 rtbreak—very relatable subjects even to us\, who are separated from the 
 original intended audience through time and social status. Composers repre
 sented include Étienne Moulinié\, Sébastien Le Camus\, and Michel Lambe
 rt.\nThe performance will be interspersed with informative and entertainin
 g explanations of the music\, composers\, and instruments. There will also
  be a Q&amp\;A session at the end.\nThis performance will be at the Grace
