DESCRIPTION:In this class\, students will learn the fundamentals of slip ca
 sting\, including preparing slip\, pouring\, de-molding\, cleaning seam li
 nes\, and refining cast forms.\nUsing a wide variety of both commercial an
 d handmade molds\, we will explore how to create sculptural elements and i
 ncorporate them into larger\, cohesive artworks. Emphasis will be placed o
 n altering and assembling modular components\, blending technical proficie
 ncy with creative experimentation. Alongside a deep dive into the mechanic
 s of slip casting\, the course will cover key principles of sculpture\, co
 mposition\, and the interplay between utility and artistic expression.
