The Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum announces a new fundraiser slated for February: “Sip-Wrecked.” The fundraiser has two components, an online auction of local pottery and an in-person, ticketed cocktail event with presentations on local shipwreck history.

The first component, “Sip-Wrecked: In Our Cups,” an online auction, begins February 7th and will end at 8:00pm on February 23rd. It can be found at fundraiser.bid/cphm. The auction features over 40 ceramic cups made by local potters including David Campiche, Audrey Long, Karen Brownlee, Shelly Hedges and many more. There are also a few pieces by local “non-potters” who made cups for the auction at Ilwaco Artworks’ Clay Play and at Bay Avenue Gallery.

The cups are currently on display in the museum’s lobby and can be viewed until the close of the auction. Entrance to the museum is FREE.

The second component of the fundraiser is “Sip-Wrecked: a Curated Cocktail Journey.” This ticketed event will take place on February 24th at 5:00pm at the museum. Tickets are $75/person, and must be purchased in advance either online at fundraiser.bid/cphm or by calling the museum at 360-642-3446. Only fifty tickets are available.

The event will feature three tailor-made cocktails named after local shipwrecks, designed by Matt Lessnau of Adrift Distillers and featuring local spirits. A selection of curated mocktails will also be available along with an array of small bites. No wine or beer will be served. To view the menu, visit the website shared above.

The evening program will include presentations about area shipwrecks by local historians and interpreters including Donella Lucero, Stephen Wood and Aaron Webster. Mike Mathis of Ship Wrecords and Moor will also be on hand to DJ vinyl for the event.

The museum is excited to hold this new fundraiser and we encourage everyone to participate and support the museum!
