DESCRIPTION:Saturday and Sunday\, January 25th &amp\; 26th: Relief prints o
 n Fabric | 10:00am to 2:00pm w/visiting artist Natalie Woodlock at The Sou
 'wester Lodge Pavilion. 3728 J Pl Seaview\, WA. Ages 12+ w/an adult or age
 s 14+.\nIn this 2-day workshop we'll make a small (9" x 6") decorative wal
 l hanging\, celebrating something or someone that is iconic to us. We'll s
 tart by carving an image into a linoleum block\, then hand-print it onto f
 abric. Using a template\, we'll cut the fabric into a decorative shape\, s
 ewing the edges with fringe and trim. Students will take home a decorative
  wall hanging of their own design\, as well as extra prints on fabric.\nNa
 talie Woodlock is a printmaker who explores queer subculture in her work. 
 She creates heraldic and commemorative silkscreened portraits of queer fri
 ends on satin banners. Her work has been exhibited most recently at Maxon 
 Mills (Wassaic NY)\, The Front (New Orleans LA)\, SPACE (Portland ME) and 
 The Bureau of General Services - Queer Division (NYC NY). She has been an 
 artist in residence at Women's Studio Workshop\, The Ellis Beauregard Foun
 dation\, Vashon Island AIR\, Anderson Ranch\, Jentel and UCROSS. Natalie g
 raduated from The University of New Orleans with an MFA in Printmaking in 
 2018\, and has since been involved in many print studios and programs. In 
 2022 she completed The Postgraduate Training Apprenticeship Program at The
  Fabric Workshop and Museum (Philadelphia PA) and in 2021 she was awarded 
 a Print Fellowship at The Wassaic Project (Wassaic NY). She is currently w
 orking on her first artists' book\, "Brokeback Mountain"\, a work that ill
 ustrates scenes from Ang Lee's 2005 tearjerker that brought audience membe
 rs to tears at screenings she organized.\n
