 s.\nAt just over a year old\, this 75-pound Shepherd mix is quietly hoping
  someone will see beyond his size and energy to the gentle soul underneath
 . And there is so much to see.\nTrooper is the kind of dog who greets life
  with enthusiasm. He’s athletic\, playful\, and always ready for the nex
 t adventure—especially if it involves a soft toy or a tennis ball. He’
 ll happily chase a ball for as long as you’re willing to throw it\, and 
 sometimes he even likes to carry his favorite toy along on walks\, as if i
 t’s his most prized possession.\nBut beneath that playful spirit is a se
 nsitive\, slightly sheltered young dog who is still learning how the world
  works. Shelter staff and volunteers have already seen wonderful progress
 —his leash manners have improved\, and he’s enjoyed friendly playtime 
 with another dog. With patience\, structure\, and positive reinforcement\,
  Trooper is eager to keep learning.\nTrooper is a bit of a “big baby” 
 at heart. He doesn’t always realize his own size and strength\, and his 
 excitement can sometimes get the better of him. Because of this\, he would
  do best in a dog-savvy home—ideally with adults or older teens—where 
 he can continue to build confidence and good habits. A securely fenced yar
 d and regular exercise will also help him thrive.\nTrooper isn’t perfect
 —but that’s what makes his story so compelling. He’s a diamond in th
 e rough\, full of potential\, waiting for someone willing to invest a litt
 le time and a lot of love.
