SUMMARY:North Oregon Coast Symphony presents  "Ancient Echoes\, New Tides"
DESCRIPTION:THE NORTH OREGON COAST SYMPHONY PRESENTS TWO CONCERTS IN JUNE\n
 The North Oregon Coast Symphony concludes its 2025-26 season with two conc
 erts in June titled “Ancient Echoes\, New Tides.” These will be very s
 pecial events\, as the orchestra is honored to present the world premiere 
 performances of "We Await a Glassy Sea" by composer Isabella Morrill. This
  rich\, evocative piece was commissioned for NOCS by two generous donors\,
  and has become a favorite of our musicians. Another highlight of the prog
 ram will be Cécile Chaminade’s lovely "Concertino for Flute and Orchest
 ra"\, featuring NOCS flautist Melissa Lagerquist. "Outdoor Overture" by th
 e famous American composer Aaron Copland and "Symphony No. 5" by the lesse
 r known Ferdinand Ries will round out the performances. Melodies in Coplan
 d's piece probably will sound familiar to an audience\, as will some theme
 s in Ries's symphony. Ries studied and worked with Beethoven\, whose music
 al influence on Ries is obvious.\n\nThe first concert will take place on S
 aturday\, June 13th at the Nehalem Elementary School Gym (36300 8th St.\, 
 Nehalem\, OR) beginning at 3:00pm.\n\nThe second concert will be on Sunday
 \, June 14th\, at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts (588 
 16th St.\, Astoria\, OR) at 3:00 pm.\n\nAdmission for both concerts will b
 e: $10 Adults\, ages 18 and under FREE (children 12 and under with adult s
 upervision.) Tickets will be available at the door for the Nehalem concert
  (cash and personal checks only.)\n\nTickets for the Astoria concert are a
 vailable online at LarsenCenter.org or by phone at 503-338-9132.\nThis non
 -profit orchestra\, under the direction of conductor Cory Pederson\, bring
 s together musicians from the north Oregon and south Washington coast to p
