 Sea\, and Space"
DESCRIPTION:North Coast Symphonic Band Embarks on “Fantastic Voyage” to
  Launch the 45th Season.\nIn J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan\, Peter tells Wendy
 \, “Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.”  In that 
 spirit of adventure\, join the North Coast Symphonic Band (NCSB) as it emb
 arks on its 45th season with “A Fantastic Voyage: Music for River\, Sea\
 , and Space” on Sunday\, November 3rd at 2:00pm at the Liberty Theatre i
 n Astoria.  The band is conducted by Terry Dahlgren of Warrenton. Doors o
 pen at 1:00pm and the Astoria Tuba Quartet will provide prelude music star
 ting at 1:30pm.\nThe band encourages audiences to purchase admission ticke
 ts in advance for $15 at the Liberty Theatre Box Office from 2:00pm to 5:3
 0pm Wednesdays through Saturdays or online at www.libertyastoria.showare.c
 om.  Tickets purchased the day of the concert are $20.  High school stud
 ents are admitted free\; admission for middle school students and younger 
 is free with a paying adult. The Liberty is located on the corner of 12th 
 and Commercial streets in Astoria.\nAudiences will sail the Hudson River a
 nd the high seas ... feel the pageantry of the British Royal Tournament in
  "Tall Ships" by Ron Goodwin ... and go "where no one has gone before” i
 n a medley that includes a ride on the U.S.S. Enterprise.  You may even f
 ind yourself on the deck of the Black Pearl with Captain Jack Sparrow!\nTh
 e NCSB is a nonprofit community performing arts group composed of local mu
 sicians of all ages who enjoy networking\, learning from each other\, and 
 maintaining their skill levels in a positive and supportive environment.\n
 Board members for the 2024-25 season are Brian Bergman\, President\; John 
 Hammond\, Vice President and Associate Director\; Jessica Strecker\, Treas
 urer\; Kristin Wishon\, Secretary\; Kathleen Strecker\, Publicity and Prog
 rams\; Dennis Hale\, Logistics\; Janet Bowler\, Social Media and Webmaster
 \; Mary Rohner\, Librarian\; Sally Schrager\; and Keith Neal.\nThe NCSB pe
 rforms four concerts per year at the historic Liberty Theatre in Astoria. 
 Upcoming performances will be held Sunday\, February 2nd 2025\; Sunday\, A
 pril 13th 2025\; and Thursday\, July 3rd 2025.\nRehearsals are from 7:00pm
  to 9:00pm on Mondays at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Art
 s (PAC) in Astoria. Most sections of the band are currently full\, but cla
 rinets are needed. Musicians interested in joining should email Personnel
