SUMMARY:Musical Storytime for Preschoolers at the Liberty Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Musical Storytime\, a hands-on activity for preschoolers\, will
  be offered at 10am Thursday\, February 6th in the McTavish Room at the Li
 berty Theatre.\nThe free readings\, for children ages 3 to 5\, will featur
 e live percussion accompaniment by North Oregon Coast Symphony musician Ca
 rol Shepherd. This month’s story is “Tanka Tanka Skunk\,” by Steve W
 ebb. It is a tale of best friends\, an elephant and skunk\, who beat out t
 he name of their various friends with drums. With colorful illustrations a
 nd repetitive rhythms preschoolers will love to participate in this fun st
 ory.\nAfter the reading\, children will be able to play a variety of percu
 ssion instruments and learn about drums\, the tambourine\, and rhythm stic
 ks as Shepherd demonstrates her instruments.\nSimilar events are being pla
 nned monthly in partnership between The North Oregon Coast Symphony\, Nort
 h Tillamook Library and Astoria Library. For more information\, visit the
