SUMMARY:Musical Storytime at the Astoria Library
DESCRIPTION:Musical Storytime\, a free\, hands-on musical outreach program 
 for preschoolers\, will be offered at 10:30am Thursday\, January 8th 2026 
 at the Astoria Library Flag Room. During this program children will hear t
 he story\, "The Mitten"\, accompanied by North Oregon Coast Symphony tromb
 onist Evan Gautreaux. Children will hear about seven-year-old Nicki\, who 
 accidentally loses one of his white wool mittens in the snow. As Nicki wan
 ders in the snow unaware of his loss\, woodland animals take residence ins
 ide the mitten one at a time. Afterwards preschoolers will take part in ma
 king their own music with provided instruments.\nThe free readings for chi
 ldren ages 2 to 5 are planned monthly in partnership with the Astoria Libr
