SUMMARY:Musical Storytime at the Astoria Library
DESCRIPTION:"Never Play Music Right Next to the Zoo" is the featured story 
 for North Oregon Coast Symphony’s May Musical Storytime. This zany pictu
 re book follows a boy who attends a concert next to the zoo. Bored with th
 e performance\, he begins dozing off when suddenly the animals take over t
 he stage. The humorous verse is full of zoo creatures and instruments that
  children will want to learn more about. The artwork is vibrant and engagi
 ng. Children will be giggling at both the song and the illustrations\, suc
 h as the one of a hippo playing a tuba.\nThese free readings\, for childre
 n ages 2 to 5\, will feature a live accompaniment by multiple North Oregon
  Coast Symphony musicians\, including flute\, oboe and violin. After the r
 eading\, preschoolers will participate in making their own music with a va
 riety of different instruments provided. The reading will be held on Thurs
 day\, May 7\, 2026 at 10:30 at the Astoria Library.\nSimilar events are pl
