DESCRIPTION:Are you overwhelmed with messages from politicians\, news sourc
 es\, and other media?  Distinguish truth from fiction using real-world ex
 amples of political ads\, news headlines\, logical fallacies\, graphs/char
 ts\, the effect of word choice in messaging\, statistical data and other t
 ypes of information.  Become your own “fact-checker” and learn how to
  find accurate information by attending this workshop.\nProfessionally tra
 ined as a teacher and librarian\, for the past eight years\, Donna L. Cohe
 n has presented nonpartisan Civics workshops for adults\, usually through 
 libraries and\, sometimes\, organizations like the League of Women Voters.
   Her workshops foster critical thinking skills\, fill in gaps in civic a
 nd political understanding\, and encourage civic engagement by revealing t
 he myriad ways people can have their voices heard.  She is actively invol
