  and celebrate the 100th birthday of famed film score composer Henry Manci
 ni\, on Friday\, April 11 at 7:30pm at KALA Performance Space. Tickets $30

 7 Marine Dr. in Astoria.\nThe jazz quartet dedicates original arrangements
  of memorable themes from movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s\, The Pi
 nk Panther\, Days of Wine and Roses\, and television themes from Peter Gun
 n\, Mr. Lucky\, NBC Election Night Theme\, Newhart\, Remington Steele and 
 so much more.\nDuring his lifetime\, HENRY MANCINI was nominated for 72 GR
 AMMY Awards\, winning 20. He was nominated for 18 Academy Awards winning f
 our\, honored with a Golden Globe Award and nominated for two Emmy Awards.
 \nDirected by flugelhornist/composer Dmitri Matheny (“one of the most em
 otionally expressive improvisers of his generation”—International Revi
 ew of Music)\, the DMG has developed an engaging repertoire and a strong i
 nternational following. The group's signature sound pleases both crowds an
 d critics\, balancing fresh\, original works with familiar jazz classics\,
  hard bop\, west coast cool and selections from the DMG's 12 critically-ac
 claimed CDs.\nKALA Performance Space is an intimate concert venue with bev
 erage bar. Seating is limited to 50 seats.
