DESCRIPTION:In this one-day workshop\, students will explore the art of kur
 inuki by carving and shaping slab-built forms into bold\, textured mugs. S
 tarting with thick slabs\, participants will cut\, twist\, press\, and pul
 l the clay to create dramatic surfaces that feel raw\, organic\, and full 
 of movement.\nThe focus will be on expressive texture\, strong silhouette\
 , and balancing sculptural energy with everyday function. Each mug will em
 erge as a tactile\, one-of-a-kind piece—both rugged and comfortable in t
 he hand.\nStudents will leave class with their mugs ready for drying and f
 iring\; finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 w
 eeks later.
