DESCRIPTION:Call for submissions: Writers Read Theme is ‘From a Distance
 ’.\nWriters will have an opportunity to gain a new perspective when they
  enter their work in the Cannon Beach Library’s Writers Read Celebration
 . The deadline for submissions is February 2nd 2026.\nThis year\, writers 
 will explore and interpret the theme\, “From a Distance.”\nSome say pe
 rspective changes everything. What happens when you can only see something
  – or someone – from afar?  Maybe it’s a planet glimpsed through a 
 telescope\, a loved one seen through memories\, or a truth that only makes
  sense once you’ve stepped back.\nIn its eighth year\, Writers Read offe
 rs writers of all ages from everywhere the opportunity to write on a speci
 fic theme. All written formats will be considered (essay\, story\, science
  fiction\,\npoetry\, haiku\, etc.).\nA panel of volunteers will select 10 
 to 12 works to be read by their authors during the Writers Read Celebratio
 n on March 6th in person at the library or via Zoom.\nWriters are asked to
  follow these guidelines:\n• Authors are limited to three entries with a
  600-word maximum per entry.\n• Submissions should be in Word format.\n
 • Include a separate cover letter with the writer’s name\, email and p
 hone number. Please do not include the author’s name or contact informat
 ion on the entry document so authors remain anonymous to the reading panel
 .\n• Email submissions to info@cannonbeachlibrary.org\nA recording of la
 st year’s Writers Read Celebration is available on the library’s websi
 te\, cannonbeachlibrary.org/events-and-programs/recorded-presentations. It
