DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, February 7th\, 2026 the Seaside Public Library wi
 ll welcome Steve Forrester for a talk on his book\, “Richard Neuberger :
  Oregon Politics and the Making of a US Senator.” This event will take p
 lace at 2:00pm in the Community Room and there will be a time afterwards f
 or a Q&amp\;A. Additionally\, Beach Books will be available for book purch
 ases after the event.\nThe book explores Neuberger’s journey from ground
 breaking journalist to Oregon’s first Democratic U.S. Senator in forty y
 ears. His legacy includes conservation leadership\, a prolific writing car
 eer\, and a political partnership with his wife Maurine\, who succeeded hi
 m in the Senate after his death in 1960.\nSteve Forrester has worked in th
 e newspaper business for more than fifty years. He was a founder of Willam
 ette Week\, served as a Washington correspondent\, and spent thirty-three 
 years as the editor and publisher of The Daily Astorian. He was co-author 
 of “Eminent Oregonians: Three Who Matter” (2021).
