DESCRIPTION:The Finnish American Brass Band\, Ameriikan Poijat\, will perfo
 rm a FREE outdoor concert at the Flavel House Museum on Thursday\, August 
 1\, at 1:00 pm in the garden.\nThe brass septet “Ameriikan Poijat” (Bo
 ys of America) has been appearing at ethnic festivals\, regional tours\, a
 nd music conferences\, presenting authentic social dance music and concert
  repertoire for over three decades. The band has made concert tours throug
 h Minnesota\, Michigan\, and to the FinnFest festivals nationwide. Other t
 ravels have included Canada\, Kentucky\, California\, Colorado\, Arkansas\
 , Texas\, and the Hjemkomst Festival in Moorhead. Ameriikan poijat recentl
 y performed at the Nisswa Stammen\, a Scandinavian folk festival in Duluth
 \, MN. Poijat has made five concert tours in Finland\, has produced six CD
 s\, and published sheet music to make their specialized music available to
  community bands.\nAmeriikan Poijat’s West Coast tour was made possible 
 in part by a grant from the Finlandia Foundation National\, Inc.\nFor more

 \, independent\, 501(C)(3) not-for-profit educational organization dedicat
 ed to preserving and presenting the history of Clatsop County\, Oregon\, a

 nter and Archives\, the Flavel House Museum\, the Heritage Museum\, the Or
 egon Film Museum\, and the Uppertown Firefighters Museum.\n
