SUMMARY:American Legion Fall Flag Disposal Service
DESCRIPTION:The American Legion Post 99 in Seaside is once again providing 
 its fall flag disposal service.\nThe Legion will host an event to collect 
 flags for proper disposal on Sunday\, November 10th\, starting at noon unt
 il 3pm\, volunteers\, including local Scout troop members\, will accept fl
 ags that are "unserviceable\, tattered\, faded\, or worn."\nThe United Sta
 tes Flag Code states that when a U.S. flag is no longer in good enough con
 dition to be "a fitting emblem for display\," the banner "should be destro
 yed in a dignified way\, preferably by burning."\nAs always\, the disposal
  site is in the American Legion parking lot across from Broadway Park &amp
 \; Field in Seaside. Flags can be taken to the parking lot for the America
 n Legion and Scouts to properly dispose of them.\nThe American Legion also
  collects unserviceable flags year-round at its Legion Hall\, located at 1
 315 Broadway Street. Those flags will be disposed of during the event.\nFo
