The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Astoria Branch, in conjunction with The Astorian and KMUN Radio, is holding a Candidates’ Forum on Tuesday, October 6th at the Astoria High School Auditorium, 1001 W. Marine Drive. The program begins at 7:00pm; doors open at 6:30 pm.
Craig Hoppes, superintendent of the Astoria School District, will be the moderator. Each candidate will be given time for a brief statement and will answer written questions from the audience. The Astorian and KMUN Radio will provide media coverage.
Candidates for the following positions have been invited: Astoria Mayor: Thomas Brownson, Andy Davis, Sean Davis, and Laura Parker; Astoria Councilor Ward 1: Jim Forrester and Andrew Kipp; Astoria Councilor Ward 3 Elisabeth Adams and Justin Grafton; State Senator 16th District: Rachel Armitage, Courtney Bangs, and Melissa Finkle; and State Representative 32nd District: Cyrus Javadi and Max Sherman.
