SUMMARY:2-Day China Painting
DESCRIPTION:In this two-day workshop\, students will explore the art of chi
 na painting—an overglaze\, low-fire enamel process that produces durable
 \, fired-on surfaces over previously glaze-fired objects. Similar in appro
 ach to oil painting\, this technique allows for vivid color\, smooth blend
 ing\, and precise surface imagery without relying on the unpredictability 
 of traditional glazes.\nStudents will practice on a series of commercial t
 iles\, learning brush techniques\, layering\, and color development. Work 
 from Day One will be fired before the second session\, allowing participan
 ts to build additional layers and refine their surfaces on Day Two. These 
 skills are fully transferable to any glaze-fired ceramic piece\, opening u
 p new possibilities for detailed imagery and controlled surface design on 
 your existing work.\nEach student will receive a china paint starter set t
 o continue exploring the process beyond the workshop.
